Music video for ‘Folk,’ directed by Luis Servera. We shot this last winter in Connecticut during one of their last snow storms. Winter is coming!
We had such a great time over in Alberta for the long weekend, was a short little tour, but filled with great music and wonderful people. At our show at the Common in Edmonton, I noticed a girl sitting at the bar trying to get my attention. She had been sketching random people in the venue all night, and asked if she could draw my portrait! I thought that was magical. After she was done, I got the impression she wanted to hold onto all her sketches, so I didn’t ask if I could keep the portrait. I thought about taking a photo, but the idea of her creating this art in the twenty minutes that I sat for her seemed more powerful than having a physical memento. I might forget what it looks like in a few years, but it’s nice to have a memory of an image for a change, and not a computer cluttered with jpgs that I’ll never print.
On that note, here’s a picture of a pair of shiny buildings in Calgary:
Woohoo! In addition to playing at the Up + Downtown Festival in Edmonton on Oct 13th, we’ll be heading over to Calgary for a show at the newly reinstated Undermountain, with Tigerwing, Rap-X, and Sabba. We owe a huge thanks to Tigerwing (check out the awesome poster she made), Pint-Sized Collective and Beatroute for putting this night together and are really looking forward to playing.
We haven’t played much outside of Montreal, so it’s about time we venture out of our province and finally visit the Prairies! (Tim’s been there before, but it’s my first time).
But before we leave, we’ll play a show here in Montreal at Le Bleury – Bar à Vinyle. Looking forward to our first touring prairie adventure!
We’re really excited to be performing at the Up + Downtown music + arts festival in Edmonton this October. Can you believe it’ll be my first time in the prairies? More info here.
Steben Alexander, a new friend, and talented photographer recently snapped some photos of me. Here’s a preview. Like the hair? It’s my snazzy wig from Namdaemun market in Korea. 25,000 ₩ yo!
